Committee Meeting and Schedule from PLC
Here are notes from the Committee Meeting and the PLC plans for the next few weeks. Please contact me with any questions, corrections or additions.
Committee Meeting 4/18/13
Welcome to Robert Montgomery
We need leader/parental help at camps. Spring Camporee / Summer Camp
Spring Camporee is coming May 17-19 and we need leaders/parents to help as well.
Aaron will be at National Jamboree during the summer camp, so we will need a couple of parents/leaders to attend the camp.
Popcorn Chair – we need someone to help organize this. It is this fall and is only for a few weeks.
Recruitment – We need someone to head this up.
Fund-raising – We need some help organizing this for the boys. Many need some help with their accounts.
Troop Trailer – The axle is scheduled to be replaced within the next couple of weeks. It should be ready to go to Spring Camporee. We will also need someone to pull to the camp. We discussed using the equipment we have in the trailer, at camps. It is best to use the troop’s tents at camps unless we hike up a distance.
Spring/Summer Schedule We need to watch for over-scheduling and burnout.
New Forms/Updated Forms
Annual Unit Tour Plan/Auto Insurance We need to collect insurance info from everyone who will be transporting any scouts. This report was missed and needs to be completed and submitted. It will also be required to be completed for next year by the beginning of October 13.
Financial Report. Wendy gave us an update on the troop funds and each boy’s accounts. We have spent almost 75% of our 2013 budget. So we will need to keep an eye on this. A few fundraisers will help and planning for next year’s budget as well.
Snacks It was suggested to have snacks once a month and we will put together a signup list.
Parents are encouraged to attend District award night during Council Annual Meeting on 4/26.
Parents and Scouts are encouraged to attend District Awards Banquet on May 3. Several Troop 26 leaders will be getting awards.
To date, the District has only received 10 RSVP’s from those who will be attending the 2013 Lewis and Clark District Awards Banquet. Please RSVP Deb Kemper ASAP in order to ensure enough food, etc. This is a catered event this year and I hope to see you all in attendance. •Meeting on 4/29. Many boys will be absent due to a school function. Steve will head up a meeting at Gibson Park for those who can attend. 7 p.m.. Wear Activity Uniforms (Class Bs).

•OA Ordeal 1 is June 7-9
•OA Ordeal 2 is June 14-16
•Cub Day Camp is June 11-14. First class and older Scouts asked to volunteer to help run that camp.
•Summer Camp July 7-13 Need confirmation on all attendees. Steve Boyd will be Scoutmaster. Need at least one more adult. Mr. Boyd and Mr. Weissman will meet with each boy in May and line up merit badges for camp. We also need to make logistical plans for transportation. That needs to be done by mid-June.
