Troop Canoeing Training TOMORROW, Wadsworth Pond, 1pm

WHO: BSA Troop 26 of Great Falls, MT

WHAT: Canoe skills training

WHEN: 26-Aug-13 @ 1:00PM – 7:30PM

WHERE: Wadsworth Pond
– Head west on Central Ave W. over I-15, turn north on 34th St. NW, then turn west on Wilkinson Lane. The access road for Wadsworth is about 1 mile down Wilkinson Lane, and on the Left.

WHY: To ensure the Scouts have sufficient canoe handling skills in preparation for future extended paddle craft events.

NOTES: This event is in lieu of our regular Monday meeting. We anticipate being at Wadsworth Pond from 1-7:30, and will finish the day with grilled hot dogs. Expect a fun and relaxed atmosphere as we learn how to safely handle these boats. Scouts that can not demonstrate their capabilities in canoes by either earning the Merit Badge or attending Skills Training with the troop will not be able to participate in weekend-long troop canoe trips. This is for the safety of the scouts.

PLEASE BRING: Swim Trunks / water clothes, Towel, Sunscreen.

Many, many thanks to Assistant Scoutmaster Jeremy Adams for organizing and running this activity!
