Can You Collect Aluminum Cans to Help Pay for Camp Parsons?

Troop 26;

I hope you are all enjoying the first week of School! Please remember that there will be no meeting this coming Monday due to Labor Day.

As you enjoy the Labor Day holiday, I would like you to think about all of the aluminum cans used at picnics, bbqs, etc. These cans are worth good money!

We all have a lot of fundraising to do over the next year to pay for our trip to Camp Parsons. Can you start bringing in empty aluminum cans to our meetings? We will give you credit in your Scout Account for the money we can get for recycling the cans.

A few points:

* Cans should be empty.
* Please lightly rinse the cans before you bring them to our meetings. We may collect them for a few weeks before we take them to the recycling yard, and we don’t want to attract lots of bugs!
* If you can, please crush them to save on transportation space.

I look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting, September 9. We will be working on skills and preparation for the District Fall Camporee and Mountain Man competition!

In Good Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
