Fun Meeting Scheduled for Tonight!
I hope you all are doing well on this Veteran’s Day ! In addition to Aaron’s notes below, we need to complete the vehicle insurance information for the recharter. Please bring your vehicle insurance information if you will be driving boy’s to any function this next year. John and Jeremy will need to complete an adult application for recharter as well.
I hope that you all are having a great beginning to your week! I would also like to take this opportunity to give my thanks to all of the veterans on this list. Your service is the reason that we are free; Thank You for ALL of your many sacrifices!
Last week, the Patrol Leader’s Council decided to work on pioneering for all of our meetings until the Christmas Party. We have some fun activities scheduled, we hope that you will enjoy them. Tonight we will be making rope. Every boy attending should be able to leave the meeting with their own 10 foot length of rope, made at the meeting. Parents, we will need to do some extra work vacuuming the church after this meeting; if 3-4 of you could bring a vacuum it would be very helpful. Many thanks to Troop 1 and to Troop 7 for loaning us their rope-making machines at the meeting.
In addition to making rope, we will be working on rope-splicing tonight. These are valuable skills; come prepared to learn!
If you are having any popcorn related issues, please come tonight. Members of the Troop Committee will be at the meeting and can help to resolve them. I know that some people have yet to pick up popcorn, and there are some people that are reporting shortages. I hope we can get that all worked out tonight.
Looking forward, with thanks to coordination by Mrs. Combs, our Troop will be meeting on Sunday, November 17 at 1 pm at Little’s Lanes in downtown Great Falls for a bowling party! Please come and have a great time bowling a few lines with the Troop. Families are welcome to come and join in the fun. This is a Troop organized, not Troop sponsored activity; please bring some money for the lane rental and for pizza.
Also, please plan on participating on the IGA Grocery Bagging fundraiser on the evenings of November 26th and 27th. We will discuss some specifics for this tonight. A Scout is Thrifty and pays their own way for Scout activities; participating in our fundraisers makes those activities possible!
Finally, we will be selling food at the Christmas Stroll on December 6. Mark your calendars and be sure that you help with this event, also!
For those of you that helped out Pack 26 with their trebochet last week, I have included some pictures. Perhaps tweaking this design might be a great Troop project for the pioneering merit badge?

PS: I have been asked to forward along the following survey to those that might be interested. Our City is conducting this survey in order to gauge how to spend transportation dollars. The survey revolves around what the people in Great Falls want to see in terms of bike lanes, sidewalks, crosswalk design, etc. If you are interested, you can register your opinions at http://www.mtpha.com/news/ctg.html.
