Great Job This Weekend!
Wow! That was a lot of wind. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think that it is easier to camp in the snow than in the conditions we experienced this weekend. We certainly had fun though!
As you may have seen in Joe’s email earlier today, we will NOT have a Scout meeting tomorrow. Instead, we will have a Troop Committee meeting (adults only) to discuss an issue.
As a result, we will not be able to award best-camper from Klondike until the meeting on February 3. However, I wanted to write a short note to congratulate all of you on the great work you did this weekend. Troop 26 tied for first place in points during the competition this weekend. This happened because of GREAT teamwork by every boy that attended this campout. You all deserve to be very proud of yourselves for how you conducted yourselves this weekend!
I also would like to note that the espirit de corps that we showed with out matching tents and blue sweatshirts was noted by every other troop attending Klondike. Lots and lots of positive comments.
A few boys have asked me if I would take them skiing tomorrow, as it is a school holiday. I am certainly willing to drive as many boys as my Suburban will hold tomorrow. Steve Boyd and I will be driving up to the hill, leaving from my house at 7am. If you would like to join us, please come to my house by then. You will have to pay for your own rental, lift ticket, lesson, etc. However, I will be glad to cover the cost of gas. We will be back in town by 6. Call me on my cell (868-8982) if you plan on joining us. This is NOT a Scout activity.
