I hope that you are all having a wonderful Summer! Our weekly Troop bike rides began last yesterday; please check our Facebook page for specific schedules for the rides–we normally do a 10 mile ride with a stop for ice cream at the 5 mile point. I hope you can join us!
Do any of you need a swim test for any of our Summer activities? If you want to swim during these activities, you need a swim test every year. I am willing to do swim tests for anyone that needs them tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) at Wadsworth Pond. Please get in touch with me if you are interested.
For those of you that are participating in our Sluice Box float this coming Sunday, we will meet at the Big R parking lot at 8am. Please eat a big breakfast before you arrive and have your lunch packed with you! Be prepared for everything you will need on the float (water, snacks, sun hat, clothes that can get wet, water shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.). If you have your own life vest, please bring it. The rafts we have procured will not be inflated, so be ready to do some inflation when we arrive in Monarch. If you want to bring a phone or camera, please make sure it is in a waterproof case that floats. If anyone that has not already registered for the ride wishes to join us, you need to contact me immediately so that we can rent an additional raft. This will not be a very expensive day; we will only charge your Scout account for fuel and raft rental costs. Please call me with any questions.
We are going to move our July Patrol Leader’s Council to this coming Monday, June 30 as we have a lot of items to discuss. If you have a Troop leadership position of any kind, please make a point to attend that meeting at 6:30pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. We will be holding our regularly scheduled Troop meeting at 7pm on June 30. In addition to the remainder of our Summer schedule, we will be doing some planning for our July float trip at Holter Lake at these meetings.
As should be standard operating practice, if you cannot attend any meeting please make a point to let your Patrol leader know in advance. If you have a Troop leadership position, you should let the ASPL know. If you are a Patrol leader and can not attend, let the SPL know. If you can not get in touch with that contact, please let me know if you can not attend a regularly scheduled meeting.
There is still time to march in the Parade on Independence Day! If you are going to be in town, please make a point to march in the Parade! The District will be taking the big overlook park flag down Central to lead the parade. There still might be time to get your name on the list for admission to the Baseball game that night, which will include fireworks. If you want to participate, please let me know as soon as possible.
