With Gratitude!

Troop 26;

Thank you very much to everyone that attended our Troop Committee meeting yesterday! We could not have a well running Troop without the involvement of our parents and friends; it really means so much for you all to take time out of your schedules to meet.

At the meeting yesterday, adult Troop leadership positions for the coming year were determined. Congratulations to our new Troop Committee Chair, Karla Gilles! Thank you for offering to serve, and also all of our thanks to Joe Copenhaver for serving in that role for the past several years. Karla will take office immediately, and will begin training Dwight Dover on all the job particulars with the intent of allowing Dwight to step into the position at the beginning of 2015. Lisa Kiamas has also agreed to take on some of the work; thank you!

Thank you also for your confidence in me to serve as your Scoutmaster again for the coming year! Assistant Scoutmasters determined at the meeting for the coming year were Stephen Boyd, Jeremy Adams, Mike Lukas, Tami Lukas and John Dresel. Thank you for your service! We still need more Assistant Scoutmasters in order to schedule activities with our boys; job requirements are to complete the following minimum trainings: Youth Protection, Scoutmaster Fundamentals and Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills.

Congratulations are due to Laura Detrick and Stephen Boyd for their good planning for our trip to Camp Parsons in just a few short weeks. Travel costs, including food, should be less than $110 per person. If you have not yet signed up to go to Summer Camp with us and want to, there are a few slots still available. However, we would have to know almost immediately if you would like to join us at camp.

At our meeting on Monday we will be making specific plans for Summer Camp, including what we are going to be doing to show Scout Spirit for the camp and ranking your priorities for merit badge classes. We also have a service project we will be conducting for Trinity Lutheran Church; there are a number of tables and chairs that need to be moved for a funeral that is scheduled there. Time permitting, we will show video from our float trip to Lake Alva last weekend. Class B uniforms are appropriate for this meeting.

Personally, I would like to also thank all of your for your support this Summer. As most of you know, it has not been an easy Summer for the Weissman family. Your friendship and support have meant so much to us.

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
