Patrol Leader’s Council Tonight!

Troop 26;

I hope you had a great weekend! We are really in the heat of Summer; as you have fun outdoors over the next few months, please remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

First, a bit of bad news: Due to the condition of my leg, I will be unable to join the Troop at Summer camp this year. I was hoping that healing would happen fast enough for me to attend, but a few issues this weekend have convinced me that will be impossible. Mr. Boyd, Mr. Dresel and Mrs. Detrick have my full confidence as your adult leaders for our expedition to Camp Parsons, and I am very disappointed that I can not join you. Logistics for our trip to Camp Parsons is one of the main topics of our meeting tonight.

We will hold our monthly Patrol Leader’s Council meeting tonight at 6 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. At a minimum, all voting members of the PLC (including SPL, ASPL, PLs, APLs, Scribe, QM, etc.) are asked to attend this meeting, but it is open to anyone in the troop to attend. We will be determining the details of our August and early September schedule at this meeting, including our Fall Court of Honor and the possibility of an early September float trip (which was brought up at our last Committee Meeting).

Our Troop meeting will begin at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. This will be a bag-drag for Camp Parsons, so please bring the packed bag you intend to bring to Camp with you. We will have a game of Ultimate Frisbee as an activity during the meeting, Class B uniforms are acceptable.

We have been asked to perform the Flag Ceremony for the Municipal Band Concert on Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 pm at Gibson Park. If you are available to volunteer to be part of the ceremony, please let our Senior Patrol Leader (Max) or me know. I’ll have a cooler of ice cream with me for volunteers to enjoy during the concert.

Finally, our Troop (an unfortunately not me) will be leaving for Camp Parsons this coming Friday, August 8 at 6am at the parking lot of the Washington School, 1015 1st Ave N. All camp attendees should make a point to be ready for the adventure of Camp then and there!

Our next scheduled meeting after this will not be until August 25. Have a great month!

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
