Popcorn, Pets, Dog Care and Fall Camporee
I hope that you are having a great Scouting week!
This coming Monday, September 15, we will be continuing our Fall Camporee planning and getting information on our upcoming Popcorn sale!
Please bring your (packed) bag for Fall Camporee, which will be the weekend of September 19-21, to this meeting for a bag check. We will also spend some time to go over the program for Fall Camporee, which will focus on Forestry, Astronomy and Fishing. I have included a copy of the Camporee program guide in this email.
Popcorn is our primary fundraiser for the year. A Scout is Thrifty, and your popcorn sales can cover virtually all of the activities you will do in Scouting this year, including camping, hiking, skiing and summer camp at K-M this coming July. Please make a point to sell popcorn to help ensure that you can be active in the troop without your parents having to write a check for your Scouting!
We will be shopping for food for the upcoming Camporee on Wednesday, September 17. We will finalize plans for the shopping trip at the meeting on Monday.
Many thanks to our District Chairman, Dr. Peter Jennings, for teaching Pets and Dog Care Merit Badges at our meeting this past Monday. We will have a special meeting with Dr. Jennings just for these merit badges on September 22. Please have the homework items he assigned complete for this meeting and review the requirements and pamphlets for both merit badges.
