October Troop Schedule
I hope that you all had fun at our Troop meeting last night. We were able to make a number of decisions regarding our program for the next months and completed a small service project for Trinity Lutheran.
Our upcoming schedule looks like a lot of fun! Our next troop meeting will be Monday, October 13 at 7pm. At this meeting, we will have the First Aid competition we originally had scheduled for last night. Please make a point to review all of the First Aid in your Scout book that is required for Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class ranks. You will have to demonstrate that you can treat any and all of those injuries at our competition.
In addition, I hope that you have all enjoyed the Zulu Toss gathering game that we have been having from 6:45 to 7pm for the last month. We will have another game of Zulu Toss next week. However, please come to the meeting with ideas for other gathering games we can start playing while we are waiting for the meeting to start. Here are some ideas: http://scoutermom.com/tag/gathering-activities/
On October 20, Dr. Jennings has agreed to give us a tour of Skyline Veterinary Clinic. Please make a point to meet at the clinic in your Class A uniform at 6:30pm on October 20.
On October 27, we will be doing a Good Turn for our community by serving a meal at the Great Falls Rescue Mission. It is very important to help out those less fortunate than ourselves, and I cannot think of a better way of doing so than this unit of service. Please make a point to meet at the Rescue Mission in your Class A uniform at 6pm on October 27.
Moving forward into November, we will have our annual calendar conference at our meeting on Monday, November 3. At that meeting, we will commit to paper our schedule through September, 2015. Please bring your family and organization calendars with you to that meeting.
Finally, we are going to have a last campout for 2014 during the weekend of November 7-8. We are going to try and have this campout at King’s Hill campground near Showdown. If there is snow, we will do some snowshoeing and sledding. If no snow, we will have some fun hikes in the area. More information to come on this campout!
Have a great week, and remember to study your First Aid for the competition this coming Monday!
