Popcorn Prizes on Monday!
December is flying by already! I hope that you are enjoying our Winter weather.
I hope that everyone that attended our ropes, knots and lashings meetings for the past few weeks had a great time and learned many valuable skills. Attendance has been very light lately. All Troop members should make a point to attend our meetings. Remember; one of the requirements to move up in rank is for you to be an active member of your Troop.
A number of you need to complete swimming requirements for rank advancement. I will be available to help you through those requirements TOMORROW at noon at the Morony Natatorium (12th Street and 1st Ave N). You will have to pay regular admission charges to the Natatorium. Please bring your book, a swim suit, towel and goggles. Please call or text me at 868-8982 if you would like to join me for this.
Our next meeting will be this coming Monday evening, December 8 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. At this meeting, we will be distributing the popcorn prizes you earned during our Popcorn sale in the Fall. If you still have money to turn in, please do so on Monday. NO PRIZES WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE THAT STILL OWE POPCORN FUNDS. If you still owe, we will hold your prizes until you bring your account current. Mr. Lukas will be running this meeting as I will be at the Great Falls High School Winter band concert.
In addition, we will be completing preparation for our annual Christmas Party and Court of Honor, which will be on December 15 at 6pm. You should bring your book to each and every meeting. Scoutmaster conferences and Boards of Review will not be given to boys that do not have their uniform and Scout book.
Our Christmas party is a potluck dinner, everyone please bring an entree to share. Trolls, please also bring a dessert and Panthers, please bring a side dish or salad.
Finally, I have attached information below for the annual Scouting photo contest and the Scouting Honor Unit programs. Last year, one of Mrs. Detrick’s photos of the Troop at Melita Island won some of our council photo awards. Please consider entering your photos into the contest!
