PROGRAM CHANGE: Service Project for Trinity Lutheran on Monday
I would like to first give my congratulations to the members of our Troop that played in the Montana High School Association Band Festival this week. Senior Patrol Leader Ryan Detrick played piano and percussion, Tyler Copenhaver was on Bari Sax and Order of the Arrow Rep Max Weissman on Trombone. All three sounded great at the concerts both Monday and Tuesday!
I received some troubling reports from Trinity Lutheran Church after our lock-in last weekend. I am not going to go into them in detail in this email, but I ask all of you to remember that we are members of the Boy Scouts of America and have pledged ourselves to the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Whenever we do anything, it is our duty to make sure that our actions meet those high standards.
Instead of a Communications Hike this coming Monday, instead we will be doing a service project for the Church, cleaning the carpet for the entire downstairs area. If any of you have extra carpet cleaners, please let me know and make a point to bring them with you on Monday. At a minimum, this meeting is mandatory for everyone that attended the Lock-In. We will perform this service project at our meeting on Monday, March 9 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Avenue North. I ask all of our youth leaders to make sure that we have full participation from the Troop at this service project.
Prior to that meeting, we will hold our postponed Patrol Leader’s Conference at 6pm on Monday, March 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church. At that PLC we will finalize our detailed schedule through the end of April.
Parents, I would like to hold a Committee meeting this Monday as well to discuss this situation. I also would like to get your thoughts on our new Troop manual. I look forward to your thoughts.
Have a great Scouting week, and I look forward to seeing every member of our Troop for our carpet cleaning service project on Monday, March 9.
