Trail to First Class Campout is this Weekend!
Our Trail to First Class Campout and Order of the Arrow Tap Out is this weekend! I hope that you are all excited about our first campout of the Spring. We will be teaching Totin’ Chip and Paul Bunyan requirements at the campout; everyone please make a point to review those items in your Scout book before we leave.
At our meeting this past Monday, we were joined by the Webelos II den at Pack 7. Welcome to all of you; some of you may be joining us at our campout this weekend. Everyone attending the campout should have permission slips and medical forms turned in; if you are planning to attend and you were not at the meeting on Monday, please get in touch with me today. We still need more participation in this event by our younger Scouts; this is a perfect opportunity to work on your rank requirements through First Class.
I noted at the meeting that the campout is on Holter lake! There will be time for some fishing if you like. If you are planning on fishing and you are 12 or older, you must have a fishing license with you.
The Troop will be meeting for grocery shopping today (4/15) at Sam’s Club at 6pm. If you would like a say in the food you will be eating, please make a point to join those shopping. We will be leaving for the campout at 5pm on Friday, April 17 alongside Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave N. Please arrive in uniform and make a point to take your Scout book with you. Please do not be late as we want to be able to set up camp before dark.
We will not have a meeting on April 20, but will have our Spring Court of Honor on April 27 at 6pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave N. If you need a Scoutmaster Conference or Board of Review before this CoH, please make a point to speak up now!
The Court of Honor will be a potluck meal, everyone should bring a main dish. Troll Patrol should also take a side dish or salad, and Panther Patrol should also take a dessert. There will be an Investment and Character and Leadership presentation by Dr. Peter Jennings at the Court of Honor, and we will have some time for a committee meeting to discuss our Summer Troop plans (and how we will pay for them).
