Backpacking Clinic by expert camper Ryan Foley at our meeting on Monday

Troop 26;

We have a great program planned for our meeting this coming Monday, June 8 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave N. Backpacking expert Ryan Foley of Bighorn Wilderness will be coming to give a backpacking clinic to our Troop. Please bring your pack with you to the meeting as well as paper and pen/pencils. This should be a very informative and interesting meeting!

In addition to the backpacking clinic at our meeting on Monday we will be finalizing logistics for our service project and hike at Showdown ski area. Please make a point to involve yourself in this discussion.

Would any of you like to earn your cycling merit badge? The cycling MB is Eagle Required, and is always tough to earn because of the number of rides involved. I would be thrilled to begin working on the badge for those of you interested. Please let me know if you would like to join me tomorrow (Sunday, June 7) for an easy 10 mile ride. We will meet at 1pm tomorrow afternoon in front of Knickerbiker bike shop. Call me at 406-868-8982 if you would like to participate.

If you intend on going to K-M Scout Camp with the troop this Summer and you are not on my list, it is ALMOST too late. I will need your attendance commitment AS SOON AS POSSIBLE with your merit badge class preferences.

Looking forward, at our meeting on June 15 we will be learning the sport of frisbee golf and will meet at Overlook Park. That meeting will also be a bag check for the Showdown hike. June 15 will also be the first meeting of the Summer where your Class B activity uniform can be worn in place of your Class A field uniform. More information on this meeting to follow.

Hope to see a number of you with your bikes tomorrow for a fun ride. If you are riding tomorrow, make a point to bring a few dollars for ice cream! (Our Troop rides often stop by Coldstone Creamery, Baskin Robbins or the FroYo store).

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
