Summer Camp is Coming!
It is almost time for Summer camp! We leave for K-M on July 19. Are you ready? I have attached the suggested packing list to this email.
Many thanks to Jeremy Adams for stepping in as our Troop Scoutmaster tonight. I will be out of town attending Powderhorn training.
At last week’s meeting, we were able to get our Troop tent inventory to seven tents. Our troop owns 10 of the BSA Jamboree tents. PLEASE, PLEASE bring the three tents that are still AWOL to tonight’s meeting. We will be again repairing poles to ensure that we have enough for the 16 boys going with us to camp.
Every boy AND ADULT attending must have a complete medical form, including part C filled out by a doctor. Please turn in your medical form tonight. We are still missing this information from most of you. You will NOT be allowed to stay at camp without a complete medical form. If you have your permission slip, please also return that tonight. Blank permission slips will also be available for your parent to sign tonight.
One part of tonight’s meeting will be to organize a few spirit days for our Troop to celebrate while we are at Summer camp. In past years, we have had things like Hawaiian shirt day, crazy sock day, ugly hat day, etc. This is a fun way to show Scout spirit!
Finally, while it seems very early to bring it up, Melita Island is already starting to fill up for the Summer of 2016. Please suggest weeks in July, 2016 when we all will be available to reserve our week-long slot at Melita. I hope to get our reservation for next summer confirmed by next week.
Have a great Scouting week!
