Summer Camp is Almost Here!
I hope you all had a great week! I have just returned from Powderhorn training. Powderhorn is the BSA high adventure training. I hope that we can use this training to plan some great adventures over the coming few years.
We will be meeting tomorrow, June 13 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave N. We are only a week away from leaving for Summer Camp at K-M Scout Ranch! I need you to keep in mind several details, which we will be finalizing at the meeting:
I need to have in my possession a completed permission slip and parts A, B and C of the medical form for every youth attending. Every adult attending must have parts A, B and C of the med form completed. I am currently missing some information from eleven individuals. You will not be allowed to ride to camp without my complete receipt of your information.
We have sixteen youth and five adults attending. Youth will all be in our Jambo Troop tents. Adults should bring their own tent or can check out one of our older-style troop tents. We are still missing two of our ten troop tents. If you have one of those tents, please make a point to bring it to our meeting on June 13. We will be finalizing our repair of eight Jambo tents to use at summer camp at our Monday meeting.
At our meeting this past Monday, we decided on our Spirit days at K-M! All members of the Troop are expected to participate in spirit days. Please make a point to pack all of the items listed so that you can participate. If you do not have a tie-dye shirt, we can talk about making tie-dye shirts on Sunday morning after we arrive at camp.
Monday: Backwards shirt day
Tuesday: Hat Day
Wednesday: Tie Dye shirt day
Thursday: Twin Day
Friday: Hawaiian shirt day
This list is subject to further review at our Scout meeting tomorrow.
We are leaving for K-M Summer Camp on Sunday, July 19. We will be gathering at and leaving from my house, 315 4th Ave N, PROMPTLY at 8am. You will be allowed one bag and one chair. I have attached another copy of the suggested K-M packing list to this email. In addition, please make a point to have your spirit day items, 10 essentials and a daypack.
Looking forward, we are going to have a patrol campout competition in August with some cool prizes to the winning patrol. Please make a point to attend our meeting tomorrow to find out more.
