Scout Show on September 12! RSVP for Fall Camporee TODAY.

Troop 26;

I hope that you all had a very relaxing and refreshing Labor Day weekend! I would also like to thank everyone for all of their patience and good input during our calendar meeting last week. We got a lot done and determined and I think that we are ready for a great Scouting year!

The Troop is now using remind.com to manage our text message alerts and notifications. All text message notifications moving forward will be through remind.com. If you have not done so already, please text a message to 81010 with the message @troop1026 to sign up for our message feed. As always, I will try to keep message to one or two relevant items per week. Please sign up today if you have not done so already.

I would like to apologize for the flurry of scoutbook.com event reminders that scoutbook sent yesterday. It looked like there were a lot of duplications in those emails and I am not sure why it sent all of them like that. Scoutbook has been having a lot of issues lately. Please see our Troop Facebook feed for some more information about this.

A few upcoming calendar notes:

We will be participating in the Lewis and Clark District Scout Show at the Montana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 12! This is our Troop’s opportunity to shine before our community and it is one of our premier recruiting events during the year. We will be building a trebuchet. Please arrive in your Class A uniform by 9am. We will also use the opportunity of the day to plan for the upcoming Fall Camporee.

Our Scout meeting on Monday, September 14 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church will be to finalize planning for Fall Camporee. As always, I need your RSVP for Fall Camporee and your signed permission slip. I will have blank permission slips at the meeting or you can print one pre-filled for the event from scoutbook.com.

Fall Camporee will be September 18-20 near Wolf Creek. Events include Astronomy, Canoe Races, a dutch oven cooking competition and the Lizagator game! A joint camporee with the Helena-area district, this weekend looks like a very well planned and fun event. Please make a point to RSVP to attend.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday morning, September 12 at the Fairgrounds for Scout show!

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
