Fall Camporee Grocery Shopping tonight!

Troop 26;

My congratulations to all of you for a great set of planning for Fall Camporee at our meeting on Monday! Well thought out menus were designed and good plans put in place for a successful trip this weekend.

The Troop will be grocery shopping for Fall Camporee tonight, September 16 at 7pm at Albertson’s on 10th Ave S. If you would like a say in the food you will be eating at camp, please make a point to attend grocery shopping. This will be led by Mrs. Rapkoch and Mrs. Gaskins.

We will gather at to leave for Fall Camporee at 5pm on Friday, September 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Avenue North. As it is getting dark earlier, the earlier we leave the earlier we can get setup for camp. Please remember that we alway travel in Class A uniforms. You should all be prepared for just about any weather conditions from warm and sunny to cold and snowy. Layers!

Parents, all boys going to Fall Camporee need to have a completed permission slip. I have attached a blank permission slip to this email. You can print one out, pre-filled out with all pertinent details, on the Fall Camporee event page at Scoutbook.com. No youth will be allowed to get in the vehicle to go to camp without a signed permission slip.

Our next Troop meeting will be on Monday, September 21 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Avenue North. Our agenda will be popcorn training, awarding best camper and Stop-Start-Continue discussion from Fall Camporee. Popcorn is our primary fundraiser each year, so please make a point to attend popcorn training so that you can learn all of the details and get forms for this year’s popcorn sale.

The 2015 Popcorn sale will begin on September 26 and conclude on October 18. Any Scout in our Troop that sells at least $500 in Popcorn will not have to pay annual Scouting registration fees. Many Scouts in our unit do not have to pay for Summer camp or attendance fees at our other camps because of their efforts to sell popcorn. There are also some great prizes this year and as always, the popcorn is delicious.

On September 28 we will be performing a service project for Trinity Lutheran Church, preparing a base and moving in a new piece of playground equipment. Please wear your Class B uniforms for this meeting. Work gloves and closed toed shoes will also be very helpful.

Remember, grocery shopping TONIGHT!

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman
