What Does It Mean to Wear a Troop Leadership Patch? What Do I Have to Do If I Help Lead Our Troop?

Troop 26;

THANK YOU to everyone that donated their time and energy to help with Max’s Eagle Project on Saturday! The road looks absolutely fabulous. What a wonderful contribution you all make every day to our community.

I will be at the Great Falls High School choir concert tonight and will be unable to make tonight’s meeting, which will be at 7pm on Monday, October 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Avenue North. In my absence, Mr. Adams and Mr. Cunningham will be helping to continue facilitating the discussion on setting our guidelines for Troop leadership roles. What does it mean to be a leader in the Troop? What do we expect from you if you put on a leadership patch? Please make a point to join our discussion tonight so that you can help make these decisions.

Jamboree on the Air will be this weekend behind the Scout office. You can earn the Radio and Electronics merit badges this weekend by participating! More details on JOTA will be announced tonight.

I hope that you are all having fun selling popcorn! Popcorn sales continue until Sunday, October 18. Your popcorn sales can help you be active in our Troop and enjoy all of our adventures without having to ask your parents for funds. Please make a point to bring your popcorn sales form and any money you have collected to tonight’s meeting. As always, there will be a great prize! So far, top sellers for the week in our Troop have won an inflatable camping mattress pad and a hammock! What will this week’s top seller win?

Next week we will begin a month where we will be working on First Aid skills. Owen’s brother is an emergency responder and he will be helping teach the basics of evaluating the scene and patient assessment at our meeting next Monday, October 19. Patient assessment and scene safety are two of the most important parts of first aid and knowing this stuff by heart is important. Your final popcorn reports and funds are due no later than this meeting.

Have a great Scouting week!
