Help Pay Your Way to Melita Island at our Troop Fundraiser on 11/21!
I don’t know about you, but the blanket of snow on the street this morning has me thinking about Winter! Remember to wear layers when playing or working outside, and have fun with our Montana seasons.
For the remainder of the year, please remember to take snow shovels, gloves and warm hats with you to Scout meetings. One continuing Troop Good Turn is to shovel out the side entrance to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Want to help pay your way to Melita Island? Our Troop Popcorn Show and Sell and Grocery Bagging at the 10th Avenue South Albertson’s is Saturday, November 21 at 9am. Please make a point to attend in your Class A uniform. Given the weather, I would suggest wearing long underwear under your uniform. This fundraiser has the opportunity to earn a significant amount of funds for your Scout account. Please make a point to arrive no later than 8:45am.
I will be unable to attend our next few Troop meetings. Mr. Cunningham will be our Scoutmaster on November 23 and November 30.
Last meeting, Gabe gave us all a great update on the coat drive that he spearheaded. We have collected between 100 and 200 coats so far for the needy in our community! We will be sorting them at our meeting on 11/23 and perhaps hearing an update on how they will be used by My Neighbor in Need. If you have coats to donate, please bring them to the meeting on Monday, November 23 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Avenue North.
Interested in earning some Eagle required merit badges? I will be doing some one-on-one (or maybe up to one-on-three) merit badge counseling on the 2nd floor of the Great Falls Public Library at 4pm on Tuesday, November 24. We will be working on Family Life, Personal Fitness and Citizenship in the Community. Please contact me in advance if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity.
Our Troop elections for 2016 positions will be November 30. How can you help lead our Troop for the next year? Please be thinking about how YOU can contribute to making our Troop great. Roles that need to be filled include SPL, ASPL, Scribe, Webmaster, etc.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a great Scouting week,
Scoutmaster, Troop 1026, Great Falls, MT
