Weekly Troop 26 Update by Dave Cunningham
As I am still out of town, this week’s Troop update is written by Assistant Scoutmaster Dave Cunningham, who will be Scoutmaster for our meeting tomorrow. Keep up all the good work. 136 coats for the coat drive: WOW!
Greetings! I hope that everyone enjoyed a fine Thanksgiving Holiday. We want to thank everyone who assisted in any way with our Troop’s coat drive. Last week we turned in to the Our Neighbor in Need organization 156 coats plus some hats, boots, gloves and snow pants. You can continue to pass on any late collections to Gabe Cunningham and he will take care of delivering them. We will have a fun filled and important meeting on tomorrow, Monday, November 30. Just to confirm with everybody, we are back to our normal meeting time and place, so we will see you at the church at 7:00 PM. Agenda items include:
1. Nominations and elections for the position of Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. All of you know how important these positions are in leading our Troop, so we hope to see you there to have your input and vote in selecting our next round of senior leaders.
2. We will discuss the requirements for the Klondike Derby that we will attend this coming January.
3. We will continue to practice our first aid skills at interactive stations.
Lastly, I want to remind you all of the fundraiser for (Papa) Paul Grosvold. Paul has given extremely generously of his time and talents to benefit scouts and scouting. He is battling esophageal cancer and there will be a dinner and other activities on December 6 at the Celtic Cowboy from 4:00 – 7:00. We can discuss this a bit more tomorrow as well.
I hope all of our boys enjoy their first day back at school and we look forward to seeing them all Monday night.
