Detrick Eagle Project this Saturday

Troop 26, this coming Saturday, Sept. 10 we will be joining Ryan Dietrich to help him complete his Eagle project. We will meet at 9:30 AM at the Natatorium parking lot. From there we will travel to the project site located between Monarch and Neihart to paint the 80 year old rock sign that was constructed by the CCC in 1936. Scouts and participating adults should dress to paint and bring water and a lunch. We hope to be back in town around 2:00 pm.

Unfortunately we will not be participating in the Scout Show this year. We had hoped to do both, but due to a lack of capacity, the need to complete this project before weather shuts us down, and the scout schedule for the rest of September we have to focus our resources on the project.

We hope to have a good turnout to help Ryan complete his project.

Also, at our Awards Banquet we had discussed the possibility of having a committee meeting this coming Sunday, Sept 11. I’d like to suggest that instead we hold a quick, focused 30 minute committee meeting prior to our upcoming popcorn training (date TBD). Thought?

Finally, a reminder that we will be having our normally scheduled meeting on Sept. 12 at Black Eagle Community Center, with PLC at 6pm and Scout meeting at 7pm. We will focus on preparing for the upcoming Fall Camporee. No shortage of scout fun in Sept. Hope to see you all down the trail.

Yours in Scouting,

Dave Cunningham
Assistant Scoutmaster
