Fall Camporee This Weekend!!
We had a great Scout meeting on Monday. Huge amount accomplished. Great job everyone!
Grocery Shopping for Fall Camporee is TONIGHT, September 14 at the Albertsons on 10th Avenue South at 6:30pm. Remember, the final decision about what YOU get to eat at our campouts is made by those that join us for grocery shopping! The troop has a wonderful and tasty menu planned of shake and bake dutch oven chicken and pecan pie with caramel sauce…
We will be gathering to leave for Fall Camporee at the Natatorium parking lot on Friday, September 16 at 5pm. We have about a 90 minute drive to Dry Wolf, so we need to leave promptly if we want to begin setting up camp before dark. Please be on time in your Class A, with a sack dinner!
All Scouts should have their 10 essentials + 5, as well as to be prepared for the weather. There was recently a post on the District website about the 10 Essentials + 5. The current forecast for Dry Wolf is highs in the mid 60s and lows in the high 30s. While there isn’t any rain in the forecast, please be prepared — this is Autumn in Montana!
Monday, September 19 is a big day! In addition to the Eagle Court of Honor for Jordan Christian and Wyatt Tanner, we will also be holding our mandatory popcorn sales training. Please plan to arrive at the New City Church, 4114 North Park Trail, at 6pm in your full Class A uniform (including sash, green pants, etc.) We will have our popcorn training at 6pm and then help Jordan and Wyatt finish setting up the church for the Eagle Court of Honor. The Eagle CoH will begin at 7pm. The reception is a dessert potluck — please bring a dessert to share.
Finally, the annual BSA popcorn sale begins this Saturday, September 24. Good luck on strong sales!
Yours in Scouting,
PS: Leaders — please mark your calendars for mandatory Youth Protection Training on Tuesday, October 11 at 6:30pm at the LDS Stake Center at 1015 15th Ave S.
