Dive In Movie on Friday!

Troop 26;

What a fun meeting learning about the moon on Monday! I am pretty thrilled that it was clear enough for us to examine the “Supermoon”. If any of you want to continue and earn your Astronomy merit badge, please get in contact with me and I will find you a knowledgeable counselor.

This coming Friday, November 18, the Great Falls Natatorium (111 12th St. N) will be showing the film “Finding Dory” as their Dive-In Movie of the month! If you want to go, please be at the Nat at 6:30pm. Fun for the whole family and troop, the evening includes open swim, mermaid demonstrations and the movie. Kids and adults alike can swim prior to the movie and then relax in the pool or tubes or sit on the deck to watch the movie. Pizza slices and root beer floats will be available for purchase. Admission is only $5/person and space is limited. The Troop will pay for your admission, but the cost will come out of your Scout account.

We will be continuing to have fun with our Technology theme at our Scout meeting on Monday, November 21 at 7pm at the Black Eagle Community Center, 2332 Smelter Avenue. We will be finalizing work on Orienteering merit badge and learning about how GPS systems actually work.

Have a great Scouting week!

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Weissman

PLC and Technology Scouting Theme tomorrow!

Troop 26;

I had a meeting with SPL this weekend, and we have a fun program planned for the next few meetings. We are going to start exploring different kinds of technology! I think you will really enjoy what we have planned.

All Troop leaders should attend our Patrol Leader’s Conference tomorrow, November 14 at 6pm at the Black Eagle Community Center, 2332 Smelter Avenue. All Scouts with a leadership position (at least one Green-bar on your position patch) should make a point to attend.

Our Troop meeting will begin at 7pm on November 14 at the Black Eagle Community Center, 2332 Smelter Avenue. We intend on starting work on the Automotive Maintenance merit badge. I hope to see you there!

The Great Falls Park and Recreation department has a fun program planned for Friday, November 18. They will have a “Dive-In Movie” at the Morony Natatorium! They are showing the movie “Finding Nemo” which you can watch while floating or swimming in the pool. Attendance cost only $5 and they will have pizza and hot dogs for purchase. We will be discussing attendance at this movie at our PLC and Troop meeting tomorrow.

Well, that’s all for now. Have a great Scouting rest of your weekend!

Important Meetings in the Next Week

Troop 26;

We have several important matters to discuss.

So that you all can celebrate Halloween, we will not have a Scout meeting tonight. HOWEVER, the Black Eagle Community Center will be hosting a Halloween party tonight and have asked for some help. If you go you can take part in the fun, and I will make sure that you receive volunteer hours for rank advancement. Food and drink will be provided — contact that BECC for more information.

There will be a vitally important parents and leaders meeting tomorrow evening at 6pm at the Scout office, 820 17th Ave S. I will be briefing everyone on a very serious youth protection issue that has arisen. If you have questions, please feel free to call mat at 406-868-8982. If you are an adult with this Troop, please make a point to attend.

We will be postponing our Patrol Leader’s conference currently scheduled for November 7. Our Scout meeting on November 7 will be held at the Scout office, 820 17th Ave S at 7pm. We will be screening the youth protection video “A Time to Tell.” This is an important topic, please make a point to attend with your parent or guardian.

Our November Patrol Leader’s Conference will be held on Monday, November 14 at 6pm at the Black Eagle Community Center, 2332 Smelter Avenue.

Trails End Support codes

Troop 26 Scouts;

Can you please send me your Trails-End support code? I am going to put up some social media posts as your Scoutmaster giving people the codes for all of the Scouts in our unit. Hopefully this results in some sales for you! I will only know the code if you get it to me. Deadline is tomorrow morning, as I will be writing and making the posts tomorrow.
